Unfortunately, there is no camping in Madikwe Game Reserve.
Visitors are welcome to stay overnight in one of the lodges but unfortunately no day visitors allowed.
The lodges organise game drives if you are an overnight guest at one of the lodges. You may not drive your own car on game drives.
Yes you can.
The lodges have a minimum stay of two nights but we recommend staying at least three nights for the best experience.
The roads inside Madikwe Game Reserve are a combination of tar and gravel. Final access to the lodges are gravel roads. The conditions of the gravel roads change depending on the season and weather and are accessible with smaller vehicles (2×4). We advise against arriving in a sports car or a vehicle with low-profile tyres where you have limited clearance. Depending on which gate you enter, you might be required to drive 10 to 30 kilometres / six to 19 miles on gravel roads before entering the reserve. These are gates situated on the Northern, Eastern and Southern borders. If you drive slowly, a regular car (2×4) with regular clearance will be sufficient. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our consultants for further advice on the road conditions.
